Biography

While in college at the University of Delaware, Marta was drawn towards issues of social justice in society after working as a research assistant in a social psychology laboratory that focused on understanding intergroup bias and racism. She knew studying law would be the next logical step. Following graduation, Marta interned at the Delaware Department of Justice in the Family Unit, where she gained valuable experience in the criminal justice system and advocating for victims' rights. While in law school, Marta worked for Murray Richman, Esquire, a well-known criminal defense attorney in New York City. This position gave Marta experience in the New York State courts and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Following law school, Marta worked for the Delaware State Courts, educating defendants about the criminal justice system. She values face-to-face interaction and helping individuals solve problems. While she was earning her Legum Magister at Delaware Law School, she worked for JP Morgan Chase & Co., conducting legal research and reviewing clients' legal documents. She worked for several years in private practice at a boutique estate planning and estate administration firm in Wilmington, Delaware. During this time, Marta earned a certificate in Estate Planning from Villanova University - Charles Widger School of Law’s Graduate Tax Program.

Marta is a member of the American Bar Association, the Delaware State Bar Association, the Alternative Dispute Resolution and Trust and Estates Sections of the Delaware State Bar Association. She frequently is appointed by the Delaware Chancery Court to serve as Attorney ad Litem for disabled adults.

Marta grew up in Newark, Delaware. She is a Newark High School alumna and a proud Blue Hen. She is a founding member of the Theta Delta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi where she served as the Music Chair. She serves as the Member Development Advisor to the Theta Delta Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi at the University of Delaware.

She enjoys spending time at the Delaware beaches, Walt Disney World, and playing trivia with friends.

Laura Giardina

Biography

Laura decided to fulfill a life-long goal by returning to school for her Juris Doctor degree. She graduated from Widener University - Delaware Law School summa cum laude in May 2025.  While juggling the demands of being a full-time law student, mother, and wife, Laura had the privilege of interning with both Vice Chancellor Paul A. Fioravanti in the Delaware Court of Chancery, and Magistrate Judge Sherry R. Fallon in the United States Court District of Delaware. Additionally, Laura received the Dean’s Award for the Class of 2025, served as both Editor in Chief of Volume 50 of the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law and Vice President New Member Competition for the Moot Court Honor Society. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with Highest Distinction in Political Science and a Certificate in International Studies from Indiana University South Bend. Laura is awaiting admission to the Delaware Bar.

Prior to attending law school, Laura was a paralegal for a Delaware attorney assisting with wills, trusts, and estates, along with civil litigation and real estate matters. Previously, she was employed as a Legal Specialist at Whirlpool Corporation in the Marketing Law Group. Currently, Laura serves as a Trustee at the Sanford School. In addition to volunteering in many ways at Sanford School, Laura was a volunteer reader for Read Aloud Delaware, coach and assistant coach for Delaware Rush Soccer and Piedmont Baseball, swim official in the Suburban Swim League, and has given her time and talents to many other local organizations.

Before calling Delaware home, Laura was born in Illinois, and lived in Florida, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Having grown up in the Chicago suburbs, she loves a good slice of deep-dish pizza, Chicago style hot dogs, and enjoyed many summer afternoons at Wrigley Field and the old Comiskey Park. While always a Midwesterner at heart, Laura and her family love living in Delaware and are glad to call the First State home. She enjoys hiking Delaware’s beautiful state parks, visiting the Delaware beaches, and spending time with family and friends.

Zack grew up in Wilmington, Delaware. He is a proud A.I. DuPont High School Tiger. While at A.I., he ran cross country and was elected to All State for Cross-Country. Zack continues to hold many of the cross-country records for A.I. While in high school, Zack worked at the Delaware beaches, serving up the legendary taste at Grottos. 

Following high school, Zack attended Wilmington University, majoring in elementary education.  He worked for the Red Clay School District as an elementary, and later high school, autism professional. Zack focused his career in education on working with children with special needs. During his time in Red Clay, he founded the Best Buddies program, a program which encourages interaction between students with special needs and general education students.

Zack is an avid sports fan and you will often find him rooting for the Carolina Panthers and the Philadelphia 76ers. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking and traveling.

Mary Clendening

Mary is a Delaware native and has lived in Hockessin since she was 10 years old. She is a proud A.I DuPont High School Alumna where she was involved in many clubs and after-school activities, such as Choir, Ice Hockey/Football Manager, and Student Counsel.

Her previous job experience includes Pension Administration for PBGC and AIG. She most recently worked as a Registered Agent completing and maintaining business filings in all 50 states.

Mary likes to spend her free time with her 2 daughters, her husband, and dogs. She enjoys going to concerts, hanging out with friends, and going to wineries. In the summer, she enjoys going to the beach. Mary is a self-proclaimed “Disney Adult” and loves to help people plan their Walt Disney World trips.

Kendra is a proud Delaware native.  She earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Leadership and Consumer Economics from the University of Delaware and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Wilmington University.

With a decade of experience in the insurance industry, Kendra has a strong foundation in client communication and organizational skills.

Kendra balances her passions as a dedicated legal assistant and the owner of a gourmet cookie business, Soulmèt where she specializes in bespoke and beautifully decorated cookies that bring a touch of sweetness to every occasion.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family.
